About IEP

The Impact and Engagement Project (IEP) is a core initiative of the U.S. Embassy Youth Council (USYC) that empowers members to design and implement meaningful, youth-led projects that strengthen their communities and enhance U.S.–Nepal collaboration.

Through IEP, USYC members receive resources, mentorship, and platforms to turn ideas into impactful action, addressing social, economic, environmental or other community challenges through innovation and civic engagement.

By applying their skills in real-world contexts, members create projects that deliver tangible local impact while contributing to the broader goal of making both Nepal and the United States safer, stronger, and more prosperous.

Impact and Engagement Project (IEP) replaces the former Civic Engagement Project (CEP) starting from USYC 2025, reflecting a stronger focus on innovation, collaboration, and measurable community impact.

USYC members participate in community engagement initiatives, leadership forums, and professional development programs, encouraging them to become more active and informed members of our community. As a member of the youth council, one will gain access to a growing network of young professionals and innovators working to drive civic engagement, digital innovation, and economic progress in Nepal.

To support the effective management of USYC, Youth Innovation Lab—a nonprofit civic-tech organization—serves as the program’s implementation partner.
